FAQ on Granting Permissions to The User.

On the User Management page, you can create and edit accounts for managers that work with your Affise Admin panel. Moreover, you can also grant access to your managers only to a specific type of data or prohibit to view some particular sections:

This article describes the answers to frequently asked questions about granting permissions to the user. 

Question №1. 'Daily' statistic slice

I created a new user. I would like the user to see the 'Daily' statistic slice and can group it by Affiliates and Advertisers. What permissions do I need to give the user?

Answer: In this case, the following permissions should be established for the user: 

  • 'Read' access to Daily Stats
  • 'Read' access to Advertisers Stats
  • 'Read' access to Affiliate Stats

Go to 'Users' section - > 'Users management' section - > 'User edit' page - > 'Permissions' - > 'Statistics':

import.png By default, only the General manager has access to the User edit page. If you want to change permissions, you need to ask your General manager. 

After login, a new user will be able to see the 'Daily' statistic slice and can group it by Affiliates and Advertisers:

Question №2. Affiliate/Account manager sees zeros in the 'Daily' statistic slice

I permitted my Affiliate/Account manager to see the 'Daily' statistic slice, but he/she only sees zeros in the statistics. Is there anything more I can configure in order to let him/her see the 'Daily' statistic slice?

Answer for Affiliate manager: If the Affiliate manager has no assigned Affiliates, then it is normal that he/she does not see the statistics. It is necessary to assign an Affiliate(-s) to the Affiliate manager so that he/she can see statistics in the 'Daily' statistic slice. If you need your Affiliate manager to view statistics for all Affiliates, then you need to set the following settings: 'Read' access to All affiliate managers statistics. Go to 'Users' section - > 'Users management' section - > 'User edit' page - > 'Permissions' - > 'Statistics':

Answer for Account manager: If the Account manager has no assigned Advertisers, then it is normal that he/she does not see the statistics. It is necessary to assign an Advertiser(-s) to the Account manager so that he/she can see statistics in the 'Daily' statistic slice. If you need your Account manager to view statistics for all Advertisers, then you need to set the following settings: 'Read' access to All account managers statistics. After login, the Account manager will be able to see real statistics 'Daily' statistic slice.

Question №3. Offers permissions to the Affiliate manager

Can I give my Affiliate manager permission to see and edit Offers but not to let him/her see Advertisers?

Answer: In Affise system Offers are connected with Advertisers, if the user is forbidden to see Advertisers, he/she will not see Offers.

Question №4. Account manager does not see the Offers section

The Account manager does not see the Offers section, although the section is selected in the 'User edit page':

What permissions do I need to give the user?

Answer: In Affise system Offers are connected with Advertisers, if the user is forbidden to see Advertisers, he/she will not see Offers.  In case you want your Account manager has the possibility to edit Offers in the 'Offers' section the following permission should be established for the Account manager: 

  • 'Write' access to Advertisers editing

If you want your Account manager has the possibility only to view Offers in the 'Offers' section the following permission should be established for the Account manager: 

  • 'Read' access to Advertisers editing

Go to 'Users' section - > 'Users management' section - > 'User edit' page - > 'Permissions' - > 'Users':

Question №5. Affiliate Manager permissions for the 'Affiliate management' section

I want the Affiliate manager to be able to add new Affiliates, but not to look at the old ones or at least not the ones that aren't managed by him/her. What permissions do I need to give the Affiliate manager?

Answer: In this case, the following permissions should be established for the user: 

  • 'Deny' access to Affiliates editing

Go to 'Users' section - > 'Users management' section - > 'User edit' page - > 'Permissions' - > 'Users':

After login, the Affiliate manager will have no access to view and edit all Affiliates in the Affiliate section but will have the possibility to edit his/her assigned Affiliates and to add new Affiliates. 

Question №6. User permissions for the 'Users Activity Log' section

I want the User to view the 'Users Activity Log' section. What permissions do I need to give the User?

Answer: At the moment by default users with the 'General Manager' role have access to the 'User Activity Log' section and users with the 'Affiliate Manager' role and 'Account Manager' role do not have access to the 'User Activity Log' section. 

Question №7. User permissions for the 'Settings' section

I want the User to view the 'Settings' section. What permissions do I need to give the User?

Answer: At the moment by default users with the 'General Manager' role have access to the 'Settings' section and users with the 'Affiliate Manager' role and 'Account Manager' role do not have access to the 'Settings' section. 

Question №8. My General/Affiliate/Account manager not able to see the Affiliate/Advertiser/Offers section

I created a user with the role of Account manager, he is not able to see the 'Affiliates' section. When I change the user's role to 'General manager' and give him access to 'Advertisers', 'Affiliates', 'Dashboard', and 'Offers' Section, But that user is not able to see 'Advertisers', 'Affiliates', and 'Offers' Sections. What is can be done? 

Answer: To make sections visible, you need to grant the user next permissions: 

  • 'Read' access to Advertisers editing. Advertisers editing permission make visible 'Advertisers' and 'Offers' sections.
  • 'Read' access to Affiliates editing. Affiliates editing permission make visible 'Affiliates' section.

Once you put 'Read' access, the user will be able to view the whole Advertisers/Affiliates list (including Advertisers' offers) but will only edit those he's/she's assigned as the manager to.
