Parallel Tracking

Parallel tracking is an alternative to common tracking, which is, according to Google, is aimed to speed the load time. Google Ads claims all third-party services are to be compatible with parallel tracking. This is the guide on how Affise handles parallel tracking.

import.png Affiliate and advertiser are to be compatible with parallel tracking on their sides, to handle the parallel tracking.

The S2S parallel integration measures

There's the requirement of adding {gclid} parameter to the affiliate’s tracking URL to track a unique click identifier from Google ads. To track and collect {gclid} in Affise, affiliate’s tracking URL has to be set this way:

https://tracking_domain/click?pid=pid_id&offer_id=offer_id&ref_id={gclid}

where:
https://tracking_domain is your tracking domain
‘pid’, ‘offer_id’ - relevant params for affiliate id and offer id in Affise
ref_id - is Affise param to track and record Google ads click identifier

Affise provides your publishers an opportunity to auto-generate Adwords tracking URL for the convenience. The option above is available in the partner’s panel > Offer > Tracking link section:

Once {gclid} is tracked via affiliate’s tracking URL and is recorded in Affise as  ‘ref_id’, you’re supposed to receive it back through an advertiser’s postback the way below:

https://offers-rocketcompany.affise.com/postback?ref_id=google_ads_clickid
or
https://offers-rocketcompany.affise.com/postback?clickid={clickid}

In case Affise clickid value is already associated with {gclid}, that’s ok not to receive both of them via advertiser’s postback. Affise will be able to fetch ‘gclid’ value through ‘clickid’ recorded and vice versa.

import.pngRight now we support the following samples of the default Admin domain, which is used in Affise Postback URL:

  • http://offers.rocketcompany.affise.com - will be supported until the end of the 2020 year!!!
  • http://offers-rocketcompany.affise.com
  • https://offers-rocketcompany.affise.com

Pixel parallel integration measures

Pixel integration assumes common image, js, or iframe integration when a pixel is supposed to be set on the advertiser’s Success page to retrieve {clickid} value for a conversion to be generated in Affise.

The step above will still be accurate for a pixel integration with an advertiser while it requires an additional rule to be followed. In addition to common pixel setup on Success a page, the JS-script will have to be set on the advertiser’s Final page. As a rule, the Final page is the page that precedes the Success page and is set in Affise offer tracking URL.

Final page JS-script is designed this way:

http://tracking_domain/gclid.js

and is allocated on your offer edit mode page.
